Labour ComplianceThe Department of Labour, Employment & Skill Development, Meghalaya on January 10, 2024, issued a corrigendum regarding notification no. LBG. 132/82/Pt/Vol.I/86, dated July 19, 2023, under Meghalaya Shops and Establishment Act, 2003

The following has been stated namely: -

The words “Female employee will not be allowed to work after 7.00 P.M their written consent in this regard shall be taken as adequate safety and security arrangements of female employees shall be made during working hours and it shall be ensured that they safely reach home after their work is over” shall be substituted to state: -

“If female employee(s) is/are required to work after 7.00 P.M, her/their written consent in this regard shall be taken. Adequate safety and security arrangements of female employees shall be made during working hours and it shall be ensured that they safely reach home after their work is over”
