The Government of Mizoram on January 05, 2024, issued a notification regarding the Fair Price Shops.
The following has been stated: -
•All Fair Price Shop Dealers/Retailers under the FCS&CA Department have opened their shops throughout the month turnaround. This is designed to enable citizens to collect their quota within a specified period (one month) even if they have financial difficulties. Fair Price Shop (Retailers) are required to open the Fair Price Shop between 06:30 - 08:30 am and 03:30-05:30 pm except Sundays. This is to ensure that those who have to go out for food during the day can take their ration without losing their livelihood.
•DCSOs should monitor their subordinate retailers and issue show-cause notices to retailers who do not comply with their orders.
