The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJ&E) on January 25, 2024, issued the Draft Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Amendment) Rules, 2023, to further amend the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017.
The following provision has been stated:
• In rule (15), which states “Rules for Accessibility”, in sub-rule (1), after clause (1), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:
“(m) Sector-wise Standards/Guidelines for MHA-specific Built Infrastructure and Associated Services as specified in the notification of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, vide number F.No. I-34020/187/2020-Coord.I, dated the January 02, 2024.”
