The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) on January 19, 2024, notified the Wild Life (Transactions and Taxidermy) Rules, 2024 in supersession of the Wild Life (Transactions and Taxidermy) Rules, 1973.
The following has been stated: -
•Rule 2 lays down various definitions of the terms like "specified animal" "Licensee" and others.
•Rule 3 specifies the Acquiring, receiving, or keeping specified animal, in control, custody or possession or put under the process of taxidermy or making the article, etc.
•Rule 4 is about the Submission of reports of stocks.
•Rule 5 specifies the Sale of specified animals, etc.
They shall come into force on January 25, 2024.
