The Government of Karnataka on January 23, 2024, issued a notification regarding the implementation of the Registered Vehicle Scrapping Policy in the State-2022.
The following has been stated: -
•The government has decided to revise the Tax Concession for End-of-Life Vehicles (ELV) Owners as prescribed in Serial No: (9) of the Registered Vehicles Scrapping Policy of the State, 2022, as it is not possible to authenticate the tax payment status of such vehicles due to improper entry in the VAHAN-4 software while backlogging the information of tax paid on some old vehicles. Government Order No.: TD 191 TDO 2022, Bengaluru, Dated January 22, 2024.
•In view of the points described in the proposal, the Tax Concession for End-of-Life Vehicles (ELV) Owners fixed in Serial No. (9) of the Registered Vehicle Scrapping Policy in Karnataka, 2022, attached with the Government Order No. TD 191 TDO 2022, is revised with immediate effect.
