The Government of Goa on January 25, 2024, issued the Goa Private Universities Rules, 2023.
The following provisions have been stated:
• Application for establishment of a Private University:
(1) An application under sub-section (1) of section 4 shall be made in Form I hereto.
(2) Such application shall be signed by a person who is authorised to authenticate instruments on behalf of the sponsoring body.
(3) The sponsoring body shall submit twelve hard copies and one soft copy of the application along with requisite annexures, enclosures, undertakings and declarations.
(4) The application referred to in sub-rule (1) shall be accompanied by an initial payment of a fee of Rs. 5,00,000/- (Rupees five lakh only).
(5) After issuance of notification under section 7 the sponsoring body shall deposit the remaining fee of Rs. 25,00,000/- (Rupees twenty-five lakhs only) within a period of 1 month from the date of such notification, as a one-time fee to the Government which shall be non- -refundable.
This notification will come into force from January 25, 2024.
