The University Grants Commission (UGC) on January 25, 2024, issued a draft UGC (Fitness of Colleges for Receiving Grants) Rules, 2024.
The applications are examined and Colleges are included in the UGC list under Section 12B per the provisions contained in the UGC (Fitness of Institutions for Grants) Rules, 1975. These rules were notified by the Government of India in the exercise of the powers conferred by Section 25 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 read with Section 12B of the Act.
Suggestions and feedback from the stakeholders are invited on the draft University Grants Commission (Fitness of Colleges for Receiving Grants) Rules, 2024 by March 04, 2024.
