The Government of Tamil Nadu on January 25, 2024, amended an older notification No. II (1)/PE/239(d)/81 dated May 01, 1981, related to the Prohibition and Excise Department.
The following has been stated: -
•In the Notification, in the TABLE, under the entry “Indian Made Foreign Spirits (brand names of which are specified in the Annexure) other than sacramental wine”, -
(1) for the expression "Rs.198.00 (Rupees one hundred and ninety-eight only) per proof litre" in column (2) against the entry under the heading “(i) ORDINARY BRANDS” in column (1), the expression "Rs.200.00 (Rupees two hundred only) per proof litre" shall be substituted.
(2) for the expression "Rs.262.00 (Rupees two hundred and sixty-two only) per proof litre" in column (2) against the entry under the heading “(ii) MEDIUM BRANDS” in column (1), the expression “Rs.264.00 (Rupees two hundred and sixty-four only) per proof litre” shall be substituted.
The amendments shall take effect from February 01, 2024.
