The Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) on January 30, 2024, issued amendments to the International Code on Intact Stability, 2008 and its applicability.
The Merchant Shipping Act, sections 298 and 317 (5) mandates approved Stability Information to be carried on board all Indian vessels.
The IMO has issued various amendments to the Intact Stability Code 2008 from time to time, which are annexed to this Order at Annexure- 1 and are applicable to Indian vessels.
The stakeholders are therefore advised to be guided by this Order towards compliance with the provisions to give full effect to the Intact Stability Cole 2008, as amended.
