Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Karnataka on January 30, 2024, issued the Karnataka Compulsory Service by Candidates Completed Medical Courses (Amendment) Act, 2023, to further amend the Karnataka Compulsory Service by Candidates Completed Medical Courses Act, 2012.

The following amendments have been stated:

• In section 4, which states “Compulsory service training of candidates completed post-graduate Medical courses”, In sub-section (1):

(a) After the words “one-year compulsory service”, the words “in the existing vacancies as specified by the State Government” shall be inserted.

(b) For the words “as may be prescribed equal to hundred rupees less than a minimum of the gross salary of senior specialist of Health and Family Welfare Department” the words “as specified by the State Government” shall be substituted.

(c) After sub-section (1), the following proviso shall be inserted, namely: “Provided that, if candidates are selected for regular Central or State Government service, after post-graduation, such candidates shall be exempted.”

This notification shall be deemed to have come into force from November 08, 2023.
