The Kerala State Pollution Control Board (Kerala SPCB) on December 29, 2023, issued a notification regarding Revision of the Boundary setback for Pig Farms.

These distance norms were revised by Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Pig Farms, the final revision of which was given vide SOP dated 04-11-2022,
Considering the non-uniformity of distance criteria specified by different departments, the Government have instructed the Board to revise the boundary setback norms in uniformity with the Building Rules, as revised, and also to revise the SOP to conform with the Building Rules and The Kerala Panchayath Raj (Licensing of Livestock Farms) Rules, as revised.
Hence the boundary setbacks, as per reference, are revised keeping the minimum distances to residences and other establishments without any change. The revised distance norms for establishing pig farms shall be as follows as mentioned in the document.
