The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE) on February 02, 2024, published the Draft Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Amendment) Rules, 2023 to further amend the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017
The following has been amended namely: -
• In Rule 15 which states “Rules for Accessibility” in sub-rule (1), after clause (m), the following clause shall be inserted, namely: -
“(n) Accessibility Code for Educational Institutions as specified in the notification of the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India, vide notification number F. No. 9-4/2022-IS.18, dated the 10th of January 2024.
Objections and suggestions shall be considered within a period of thirty days from the date of publication of this notification and may be addressed to Shri Ram Charan Meena Under Secretary to the Government of India, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Room No 11 A, 5th Floor, Pandit Deen Dayal Antyodaya Bhawan, CGO Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi, 110003 or by email at [email protected]
