The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJ&E) on February 02, 2024, issued the draft Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Amendment) Rules, 2023 to amend the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules,2017.
The following has been stated: -
•In the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017, in rule (15), in sub-rule (1), after clause (n), the following clause shall be inserted, namely: -
“(o) Accessibility Guidelines and Standards for Higher Education Institutions and Universities as specified in the notification of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India, vide notification number F. No. N-11018/01/2024, dated January 19, 2024.
The objections and suggestions rules shall be taken into consideration after the expiry of a period of thirty days from February 02, 2024.
