The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare (MoAFW) on February 02, 2024, issued the notification regarding the Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods employed to address various challenges in the agricultural sector to aid farmers.
The following are the initiatives namely: -
• ‘Kisan e-Mitra’ – AI-powered chatbot to assist farmers with queries about the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.
• National Pest Surveillance System – Helps tackle the loss of produce due to climate change.
• AI-based analytics using field photographs for crop health assessment and crop health monitoring using Satellite, weather & soil moisture datasets for rice and wheat crops.
