The Tripura State Pollution Control Board (TSPCB) on January 29, 2024, issued the notification to categorize the Activities/ Processes/Operations/Industries based on their relative pollution index.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The following has been categorized under the Sand/riverbed material mining from the riverbed and its floodplains (excluding manual excavation):
a. Mining lease area of more than 5 hectares or mining lease area up to 5 hectares which is part of cluster mining – Red
b. Standalone mining lease area up to five hectares in areas (not a part of any cluster mining) – Orange
• The following has been categorized under the Semiconductor manufacturing industries:
a. Semiconductor fabs manufacturing – Red
b. Display Fabs Manufacturing – Red
c. Compound Semiconductor/Silicon Photonincs/Sensor fabs manufacturing – Red
d. Semiconductor Assembly, Testing, Marking, and Packaging Facility – Orange
This shall be effective from January 29, 2024, and shall remain in force till further order.
