The Rajya Sabha on February 02, 2024, issued the Indian Media Services (Regulation and Licensing) Bill, 2024.
The following has been stated: -
•Section 2 lays down various definitions of the terms like "media services" "service provider" and others.
•Section 3 is about the Licensing of Media Services.
•Section 4 specifies about the Establishment of the Indian Board for Media Services.
•Section 5 is about the members of the selection committee.
It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
