The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoA&FW) on February 05, 2024, issued the draft Millets Grading and Marking Rules, 2024.
The following has been stated: -
•Rule 2 lays down various definitions of the terms like "General Grading and Marking Rules" "grade designation mark" and others.
•Rule 3 is about the Grade designation mark.
•Rule 4 specifies the Grade designations.
•Rule 5 mentions that for the purpose of these rules, the quality of millets shall be as provided in Schedule II to XII.
They shall apply to whole or dehulled millets intended for direct human Consumption. The list is given in the document below.
Any Objections or suggestions may be submitted by any person with respect to the draft within 45 days from February 06, 2024.
