The Department of Telecommunication (DoT) on February 05, 2024, issued the notification regarding the Provision of telecom resources for M2M Services/connectivity, only to the DoT registered M2M Service Providers and WPAN/WLAN Connectivity Providers for M2M Services
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that All Telecom Licensees shall henceforth not provide telecom resources for M2M Services/connectivity including M2M SIMs, to unregistered M2M Service Providers and WPAN/WLAN Connectivity Providers for M2M Services.
• All the Authorized Telecom Licensees shall obtain and record the DoT Registration Number of entity, before providing telecom resources to them for M2M Services/connectivity. For existing entities, the DoT Registration Number shall be obtained and recorded by March 31, 2024, and for new entities, telecom resources shall be provided only after mandatorily obtaining the Registration Number.
• It states that all the Authorized Telecom Licensees are requested to sensitize such entities availing telecom resources from them, to register with DoT through the SaralSanchar portal (https://saralsanchar.gov.in) latest by March 31, 2024, failing which the telecom resources taken from Authorised Telecom Licensees of DoT are liable to be withdrawn/disconnected.
