The Government of Karnataka on February 09, 2024, issued the Karnataka Excise (Sale of Indian & Foreign Liquors) (Amendment) Rules, 2024, to further amend the Karnataka Excise (Sale of Indian & Foreign Liquors) Rules, 1968.
The following amendments have been stated:
• In rule 5-A, which states “Renewal of licence”, after sub-rule (3), the following shall be inserted, namely:
“(4). Nothing in rule 12 regarding quota shall apply to such discontinued licences revalidated and renewed in the event of death of the licensee or the lessee on or after January 01, 2000”
This notification will come into force from February 09, 2024.
