Industry Specific ComplianceThe Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) on February 16, 2024, notified Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (Technical Standards and Specifications including Safety Standards for City or Local Natural Gas Distribution Networks) Amendment Regulations, 2024 further to amend the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (Technical Standards and Specifications including Safety Standards for City or Local Natural Gas Distribution Networks) Regulations, 2008.

The following has been stated: -

•In regulation 2(1)(g), -

a)In the proviso, after the words “CGD network shall be considered as a part of CGD network,” and before the words “.... however, the authorized entity”, the following shall be inserted namely: - “If required, subject to prior approval from PNGRB, the authorized entity may set up and operate compression facilities along with such CGS for an initial period of 2 years from the date of its authorization. Upon the expiration of  2-year period, the authorized entity shall immediately cease the operation of such compression facilities.”

b)For the word “however”, the words “However, in any case,” shall be substituted.

c)After the words “customer...” and before the word “...outside” the words “from the pipeline” shall be deleted.

They shall come into force on February 17, 2024.
