The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) on February 20, 2024, issued a notification regarding Authorizing Respective Zonal Senior Environmental officers to accept the request of the industry to pay the Consent fee for a lesser period than the mandatory period.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that the State Pollution Control Boards and PCCs have re-categorized the industrial sectors under the Red, orange, and Greenland white categories and have recommended a uniform consent validity period.
(i) Red category of industries for 5 years
(ii) Orange category of industries for l0 years
(iii) Green category of industries for 15 years N, necessity of consent for non-polluting industries (white category)
