The Government of Assam on January 12, 2024, issued the Assam Food Security (Amendment) Rules, 2023, to further amend the Assam Food Security Rules, 2022.
This shall come into force on January 12, 2024.
The following amendment has been stated:
• In rule 4, which states “Criteria for selection of beneficiaries, household under Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) and Priority category”:
(i) In sub-rule (1), after clause (q), the following new clause (r) shall be inserted, namely:
"(r) State Government Muster Roll employees and Daily Wage Earners, Retired Grade-IV employees of Central and State Government and Contractual employees having annual family income of less than Rs. 4,00,000.00 (four lakhs)"
(ii) In sub-rule (2), clause (b) shall be omitted.
