The Government of Gujarat on February 16, 2024, issued the Gujarat Rents, Hotel and Lodging House Rates Control (Revival of Operation and Amendment) Bill, 2024, to further revive operations and to amend the Gujarat Rents, Hotel and Lodging House Rates Control Act, 1947.
The following amendments have been stated:
• All the provisions of the Gujarat Rents, Hotel and Lodging House Rates Control Act, 1947, shall stand revived with effect on and from April 01, 2021.
• In section 3, which states “Commencement and duration”, in sub-section (2), for the figures, letters and words “March 31, 2021”, the figures, letters and words “March 31, 2026” shall be substituted.
This notification shall be deemed to have come into force from April 01, 2021.
