The Ministry of Power (MoP) on February 16, 2024, issued the Draft Electricity (Third Amendment) Rules, 2024 to further amend the Electricity Rules, 2005.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Rule 19 which states “Notification of grant of license” sub-rule (1)(a) shall be substituted to state:
“The Central Government may notify a distinct central pool for different categories of Renewable Energy Sources. The duration of each central pool shall be three years from the date of commencement as notified by the Central Government”
