The Government of Haryana on February 26, 2024, issued the Haryana Registration and Regulation of Private Coaching Institutes Bill, 2024.
The following have provisions have been stated:
• Authority:
There shall be an Authority in each district to register and regulate the private coaching institutes consisting of the following members, namely:
o Deputy Commissioner - Chairperson;
o Superintendent of Police - Member;
o District Municipal Commissioner - Member;
o District Higher Education Officer - Member;
o District Education Officer - Member;
o Accounts Officer, to be nominated by the Chairperson - Member;
o Principal of one Government College of the district, to be nominated by the Chairperson - Member; and
o Two representatives of private coaching institutes in the district, to be chosen by a draw of lots amongst the private coaching institutes – Members.
• Counsellor:
Every private coaching institute shall engage at least one full-time counsellor to address the mental health and stress-related issues among the students.
