The Government of Himachal Pradesh on February 15, 2024, issued the Himachal Pradesh Water Cess on Hydropower Generation (Amendment) Act, 2023 to further amend the Himachal Pradesh Water Cess on Hydropower Generation Act, 2023.
The following has been amended namely: -
• Section 1 which states “Short title and commencement” the following has been substituted namely: -
“This Act may be called the Himachal Pradesh State Water Commission Act, 2023”
• Section 18 which states “Establishment of the Commission” the following has been substituted namely: -
“The Government may, by notification, establish Commission to be known as the Himachal Pradesh State Water Commission to exercise the powers and to discharge the functions under this Act”
• Section 34 which states “Establishment of the fund by the Government” has been substituted namely: -
“There shall be constituted a fund, to be called the Water Cess on Water Commission Fund and the following sums shall be credited thereto”
