The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers (MoC&F) on February 27, 2024, issued a notification regarding the collection of statistics on chemicals and petrochemicals in various facets.
The following has been stated: -
•The Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals directed the collection of statistics on chemicals and petrochemicals on various facets including but not limited to production, installed capacity, export, import, sales, and other related data of the chemical and petrochemical sector mandatorily on ChemIndia Web portal.
•The statistics shall be collected through an online portal from the chemical and petrochemical registered industries/units in the country on an annual as well as monthly basis to create a comprehensive and authentic inventory of the chemical and petrochemicals data in respect of Production Quantity, Installed Capacity, Import, Export and Sales and other data incidental thereto.
•The Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals further appoints the person as also its assignee in office, mentioned in the table below, as a Statistics Officer with reference to the aforesaid direction.
•All persons engaged in any activity in respect of the directions are governed by the provisions under the Collection of Statistics Act, 2008, and the Collection of Statistics Rules, 2011. No power has been delegated to any other Statistics Officer under sub-section (4) or (6) of Section 4 of the Act.
