The Government of Chhattisgarh on February 12, 2024, issued an amendment to the Chhattisgarh Distillery Rules, 1995.
The following amendments have been stated:
• In Rule 6, which states “Permissible limits on the supply of spirit, amount of difference and scrap”, sub-rule (6) has been substituted as follows:
o Movement of spirit from distillery: Within Chhattisgarh, spirit should not be transported from one distillery to another or within the premises of a distillery. On execution of a bond prescribed by the Excise Commissioner on payment of prescribed transport charges for any purpose by a country/foreign liquor bottling unit or a country/foreign liquor bottling unit situated outside the distillery premises for the purpose of manufacturing liquor or by any other unit. Or in such other manner as the Excise Commissioner may prescribe. Spirit can also be transported through tanker/pipeline/drum/container/other means and a transport fee of Rs 1500/- per consignment will be payable on transportation of such spirit. If such spirit is transported through the pipeline, then transportation charges will be Rs 1500/- per quantity of 20,000 bulk litres or less.
This notification will come into force from February 12, 2024.
