The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers (MoCF) on February 27, 2024, issued the Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) Homopolymers (Quality Control) Order, 2024.
The following has been stated namely: -
• This shall apply to Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) Homopolymers and shall not apply to goods or article meant for export
• The Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) Homopolymers shall conform to IS 17658:2021 bearing the title of the Indian Standard ‘Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) Homopolymers – Specification’ and shall bear the Standard Mark under a licence from the Bureau of Indian Standards as per Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
• The Bureau of Indian Standards shall be the certifying and enforcing authority.
It shall come into force on the expiry of one hundred and eighty days from February 27, 2024.
