The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers on February 27, 2024, issued the Polypropylene (PP) Materials for Moulding and Extrusion (Quality Control) Order, 2024.
It shall apply to goods or articles specified in the Table and shall not apply to goods or article meant for export.
The following has been stated:
• Conformity to the standard and compulsory use of Standard Mark:
Goods or articles specified in the said Table shall conform to the corresponding Indian Standard given in the title of the Indian Standard in the said Table and shall bear the Standard Mark under a licence from the Bureau of Indian Standards as per Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
• Certification and enforcement authority:
In respect of goods or articles specified in the table, the Bureau of Indian Standards shall be the certifying and enforcing authority.
• Penalty for Contravention of the provisions of Order:
Any person who contravenes the provisions of this order shall be punishable under the provisions of the said Act.
This notification shall come into force on the expiry of 180 days from February 27, 2024.
