The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) on February 19, 2024, issued the Direction for ensuring generation of EPR Certificates by Waste Tyre Recyclers towards fulfilment of Producers EPR obligations for the FY 2022-23 and 2023-24.
The following directions have been stated namely: -
• To issue notice to all recyclers, who are recycling Waste Tyre but not uploading requisite documents, and invoices as per the prescribed guidance document, for the generation of EPR certificates on the waste tyre EPR portal
• To withdraw/suspend/cancel the CTO of such waste tyre recyclers for non-compliance of the above
• To carry out verification of various documents/invoices/information uploaded by the waste tyre recyclers on the EPR Portal for the quantity of waste tyre procured/collected/imported, recycled, end product produced and sold for generation of EPR certificates and also verify their installed plant and machinery and their capacities and capability.
Necessary action for compliance with aforesaid directions are to be taken and submit the Action Taken Report to the office within 15 days from February 19, 2024.
