The Government of Bihar on February 29, 2024, issued the Bihar Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Amendment), Rules, 2024, to further amend the Bihar Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017.
The following amendments have been stated:
• In Chapter III, which states “Limited Guardianship”, the following new sub-rule (9)' will be added after sub-rule 8 in rule-6:
"6(9) The Divisional Commissioner shall be the appellate authority for appeal against the decision of the authorised authority under sub-rule (1)."
• In Chapter-IV, which states “Education”, after Rule-7, the following new sub-rule 7(1) will be added:
"7(1) The process and fees for granting recognition to educational institutions in the state/ issuance of no-objection certificate will be determined by the Social Welfare Department."
This notification will come into force from February 29, 2024.
