The Ministry of Mines on March 01, 2024, issued an amendment to the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957.
The following amendments have been stated:
• The Second Schedule, which states “Rates of Royalty”, has been amended:
o After item 4 and the entries relating thereto, the following item and entries shall be inserted as specified in the Table.
o In item 5, for the words, “Ilmenite, Rutile and Zircon”, the words “Ilmenite and Rutile occurring in Beach Sand Minerals found in teri or beach sands” shall be substituted.
o After item 10 and the entries relating thereto, the following item and entries shall be inserted as specified in the Table.
