The Government of Uttar Pradesh on March 05, 2024, notified the Uttar Pradesh Green Hydrogen Policy- 2024.
The following has been stated: -
• The Uttar Pradesh Government is promoting clean and green energy in the state in view of global warming and climate change. Committed to encouraging production sources. Green hydrogen is a clean energy and industrial fuel.
•This policy will remain valid and operational for five years from the date of issue of notification or until the State Government amends this policy or notifies a new policy.
•This policy will be implemented across the entire value chain of Green Hydrogen/Ammonia units including production, consumption, and marketing.
•Some of the vision and Objectives are as follows: -
1. To implement the Green Hydrogen Mission and Green Hydrogen-related policies of the Government of India and to provide support accordingly.
2. In Green Hydrogen/Ammonia production facilities and Green Hydrogen product manufacturing units Facilitate ease of doing business and fiscal and promote green hydrogen/ammonia market creation by providing non-financial incentives.
3. Encourage research and innovation in green hydrogen/ammonia production and consumption technologies to competitively reduce the cost of green hydrogen/ammonia.
•The production capacity of 01 (one) million metric tonnes per year of Green Hydrogen/Green Ammonia is targeted in Uttar Pradesh by the year 2028.
