The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) on March 06, 2024, issued the Potable Water Bottles (Quality Control) Order, 2024
The following has been stated namely: -
• Portable water bottles shall conform to the corresponding Indian Standard which is 17803:2022 and shall bear the Standard Mark under a licence from the Bureau as per Scheme-1 of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018
• The Bureau shall be the certifying and enforcing authority for Portable water bottles
• Any person who contravenes the provisions of this Order shall be punishable under the provisions of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016
