The Government of Haryana on March 07, 2024, notified draft modification of the Stage Carriage Scheme, 2016.
Objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby before the expiry of the period of thirty days from the date of publication of the notification in the Official Gazette.
The following has been stated-
•Minimum permits for each route in the Schedule shall be fixed by the State Transport Authority after considering the recommendations made by the committee. In case of any deviation from the recommendations made by the committee, the State Transport Authority shall record its reasons in writing.
•Minimum permits of a route shall be notified in the Official Gazette with the prior approval of the State Government before the determination of demanded permits of such route.
•The State Government shall be competent to issue any such terms and conditions as may be necessary, to ensure a fair process for application and grant of permits under the scheme for fixing of minimum permits, demanded permits and maximum permits subject to the conditions mentioned in this scheme.
•The Administrative Secretary of the Transport Department shall be competent to accord approval for notification of minimum permits, demanded permits and maximum permits.
•The State Transport Authority may, after every three years, with the prior approval of the State Government, revise the number of minimum permits on any route mentioned in the Schedule and may invite fresh applications to determine the demanded permits and the maximum permits as provided in the scheme
