Industry Specific Compliance The Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) on March 06, 2024, issued the Procedure for dealing with applications of MTOs where there is a gap in insurance coverage required.

The following has been stated namely: -

• The submission of the application/extension in violation of insurance coverage would be examined under sections 5 and 7 of the Multimodal Transportation of Goods Act (MMTG), 1993, and would be dealt accordingly.
