The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) on March 06, 2024, issued the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Amendment Regulations, 2024, to further amend the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
The following amendments have been stated:
• In Schedule-II, in Scheme-IV, which states “Conformity assessment scheme for Grant of certificate of conformity for goods and articles as per any standard”, in paragraph 5, in sub-paragraph (2), for the proviso,
o With effect from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette, the following proviso shall be substituted namely:
“Provided that a concession of eighty per cent. shall be given to micro-enterprises and start-ups, 50 percent. shall be given to small enterprises and twenty per cent. shall be given to medium enterprises.”
o With effect from June 01, 2026, the following proviso shall be substituted, namely:
“Provided that a concession of twenty per cent. shall be given to micro, small and medium enterprises.”
This notification will come into force from March 06, 2024.
