The Government of Maharashtra on March 07, 2024, issued the Fourth Women's Policy-2024.
The following has been stated: -
•Maharashtra State's "Fourth Women's Policy-2024" is being announced through a government decision along with an index to measure the progress of implementation in a specific and enumerative manner for the empowerment of women.
•To provide necessary opportunities and facilities to women and girls in the state to implement the equal rights granted to all citizens by the Constitution of India and to achieve their development in social, economic, and other fields, health, nutrition, diet, and health, education and skills, prevention of gender-based violence, gender equality.
•For the implementation of the activities mentioned in the Women's Policy for the empowerment and development of women, it will be necessary to approve the necessary authorities as well as the planning and finance department by the relevant ministerial departments and provide funds.
•Designing the State Level Convergent Action Plan on Women Policy, supporting the implementation at all levels from State to Gram Panchayat level, continuously monitoring and evaluating the Action Plan, taking corrective action where necessary, and making recommendations for improving the policy and for women equality and women empowerment in the State.
• To implement the said women's policy, the information in the statement mentioned in Annexure No-9 mentioned in the action plan should be submitted by the concerned ministerial department to the women and child development department every three months.
