Commercial ComplianceThe Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) on March 08, 2024, issued the Central Motor Vehicles (Fifth Amendment) Rules, 2024, to further amend the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989.

The following amendments have been stated:

• In rule 115A, which states “Emission of smoke and vapour from agricultural tractors, power tillers, construction equipment vehicles and combine harvesters driven by diesel engines”, in sub-rule (10), in Table 2, in the heading “Applicable with effect from”, for the figures and words, “April 01, 2024”, the figures and words “January 01, 2025” shall be substituted.

• In rule 120, which states “Silencers”, in sub-rule (6), for the figures and words, “April 01, 2024”, the figures and words “January 01, 2025” shall be substituted.

This notification will come into force from March 08, 2024.
