The Government of Karnataka on March 11, 2024, notified the Karnataka Registration (Amendment) Rules, 2024 further to amend the Karnataka Registration Rules, 1965.
The following has been stated: -
•In rule 2 sub-rule (i), after clause (g), the following shall be inserted, namely: -
"(h)'UIDAI' means the Unique Identification Authority of India and any other related terms used in these rules shall have the same meaning as defined under the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and other Subsidies Benefits and Services) Act, 2016" (Central Act 18 of 2016)."
•In rule 81 after sub-rule (ii), the following shall be inserted, namely: -
(iii)(A) Validity of consent-based Aadhaar Authentication service.
•In rule 163 after the words "shall be pasted" the words " or filed electronically", shall be inserted.
They shall come into force on March 11, 2024.
