Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) on March 12, 2024, issued a notification regarding the closure of Rashtriya Mahila Kosh (RMK).

The following has been stated: -

•The Rashtriya Mahila Kosh (RMK) was set up by the Government of India in 1993 under the then Ministry of Human Resource Development for the purpose of providing micro-loans to women through Government & Non-Government Organisations. 

•RMK was registered as a society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, with the purpose of extending micro-finance in a client-friendly, without-collateral, and hassle-free manner for livelihood activities, housing, micro-enterprises, and family needs to bring about socio-economic upliftment of the women.

•All operations and activities of RMK stands closed w.e.f. December 31, 2023.

•The SVRS given to the employees of RMK, transfer of outstanding loan portfolio of RMK to SIDBI, closure of all accounts, and its dissolution, the Society ceased to exist w.e.f. February 19, 2024.
