The Finance (Excise) Department, Rajasthan on March 13, 2024, issued the Rajasthan Excise (Grant of Hotel Bar/Club Bar Licenses) (Draft Amendment) Rules, 2024 to further amend the Rajasthan Excise (Grant of Hotel Bar/Club Bar Licenses) Rules, 1973.
This shall come into force on April 01, 2024.
The following rule has been amended namely:-
• In rule 3, sub-rule 3 the list which states license fees of “other hotels” has been substituted with new entries and higher fees. It specifies that there shall be different license fees for the hotels varying from location to number of room capacity, namely:-
• For Hotels situated in the Urbanisable limit of Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, and Mount Abu - 8.00 lakhs for rooms up to 50, 10.00 lakhs for rooms up to 100, 15.00 lakhs for rooms more than 100.
• For Hotels situated in Urbanisable limit of other Divisional/ District, Headquarters, Bhiwadi and five kilometers periphery limit of Ranakpur temple and Ranthambhore National park - 5.00 lakhs for rooms up to 50, 7.50 lakhs for rooms upto 100, 9.50 lakh for more than 100.
• For Hotels situated in Other areas not covered - 3.00 lakhs for rooms up to 50, 3.50 lakh for rooms up to 100, 4.00 lakhs for rooms for more than 100.
The Objections or suggestions, if any, to these draft rules be taken into consideration after 10 days from March 13, 2024, and may be addressed to the Excise Commissioner, Udaipur.
