The Government of Himachal Pradesh on March 07, 2024, issued a notification regarding the collection of Processing/Administrative charges for the grant of Environmental Clearance to the Project Proponents for Category-'B' projects.
The following has been stated: -
•The State Level Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA), Himachal Pradesh has been constituted by MoEF&CC, GoI in pursuance to EIA Notification, 2006 for granting Environmental Clearance (EC) to the Category 'B' Projects in Himachal Pradesh.
•State Level Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA), Himachal Pradesh through its Member Secretary-cum-Director (EST&CC) had sent a proposal to the Government to levy Processing/Administrative charges for grant of Environment Clearances on the analogy in other states such as Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh. Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, etc.
•After careful examination the Governor of Himachal Pradesh is pleased to permit SEIAA, Himachal Pradesh to collect Processing/Administrative charges at the rate as given in the table below for the grant of EC to the Project Proponents for Category-'B' projects.
Category-'B' projects comprise the mining projects and others.
