The Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) on March 14, 2024, notified regarding the Supply of Spectacles to IPs-Fixation of ceiling on the cost of frames.
At present, there is a ceiling prescribed for provision of spectacles-cost of frames to be reimbursed to the IPs at the rate of Rs. 500/-.
Now, keeping in view of the increase in the rates of frames of spectacles over the period, the Competent Authority has accorded approval for enhancement of the ceiling on the cost of the Spectacles to be provided/reimbursed to the insured persons and their dependents from Rs. 500/- to Rs. 1200/-. The replacement of spectacles will be provided once in five years as per present practice.
