The Government of Maharashtra on March 14, 2024, notified the Maharashtra Agricultural Lands (Ceiling on Holdings) Grant of Surplus Lands taken over from Industrial Undertakings (Amendment) Order, 2024 further to amend the Maharashtra Agricultural Lands (Ceiling on Holdings) Grant of Surplus Lands taken over from Industrial Undertakings Order, 1970.
The following has been stated: -
•After clause 5 the following clause shall be inserted, namely: -
"5A. Utilization of Corporation lands for non-agricultural purposes. - Notwithstanding anything contained in clause 5, the Corporation may utilize the Corporation lands reserved for residential, commercial, industrial, or any other non-agricultural use in the Regional Plan or the Development Plan approved by the concerned Planning Authority, for residential, commercial, industrial, or any other non-agricultural uses, as the case may be, with the previous approval of the State Government".
