The Government of Bihar on March 14, 2024, issued the Bihar Value Added Tax (Amendment) Act, 2024, to further amend the Bihar Value Added Tax Act, 2005.
The following amendment has been stated:
• In Section 24, which states “Returns, payment of tax, interest and penalty”, after sub-section (3), the following new sub-section (3A) shall be inserted, namely:
“(3A)- Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in the Act and subject to such Rules as may be made on this behalf, the State Government may, by notification and subject to such conditions and restrictions, as may be prescribed, exempt any class or description of registered dealers from filing the return prescribed under the Act.”
