The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) on March 15, 2024, issued the Draft Cinematograph (Adjudication of Penalty) Rules, 2024.
The following has been stated namely: -
• They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette
• While authorised the quantum of penalty, the authorised officer shall have due regard to the following factors, namely: -
o Nature of the violation
o The amount of disproportionate gain or unfair advantage, wherever quantifiable, made as a result of the violation.
o Repetition of the violation
o Balance of hardships
