The Government of Karnataka on March 16, 2024, issued the Draft Karnataka Compulsory Service by Candidates Completed Medical Courses (Counseling, Allotment, and Certification) (Amendment) Rules, 2024 to further amend the Karnataka Compulsory Service by Candidates Completed Medical Courses (Counseling, Allotment and Certification) Rules, 2015.
The following has been amended namely: -
• In rule 2 which states “definitions” (i) after clause (f), the following shall be inserted, namely:-
“(fa) ‘Exemption’ means exemption from one-year compulsory service by candidates who completed the course;
(ii) after clause (j), the following shall be inserted, namely:-
“(ja) ‘Salary’ means stipend as specified by the State Government.
• In rule 6 shall be substituted as follows namely:-
“6. Preparation of Priority List: During counseling, priority based on merit shall be accorded in the following cases, namely:-
a. applicants or their spouses or children or dependent parents facing serious and terminal ailments with no available medical treatments at their place of posting;
b. cases of individuals with more than 40% disability, as certified by the District Medical Board;
c. cases of widows;
d. cases of married couples where both spouses are government servants or one-year compulsory service Residents or Post Graduates and their consideration aligns with the transfer guidelines issued by the State Government;
e. Single parent; and
f. General cases.
Objection or suggestion shall be considered within the expiry of 15 days of publication of this draft, the Objections and suggestions may be addressed to the Principal Secretary to the Government, Health and Family Welfare Department, Vikasa Soudha, Bengaluru - 560 001.
