Industry Specific Compliance The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) on March 15, 2024, notified the Footwear Made from Leather and Other Materials (Quality Control) Order, 2024 in supersession of the Footwear Made from Leather and Other Materials (Quality Control) Order, 2022.

The following has been stated: -

•Rule 2 is about the Compulsory use of Standard Mark.

•Rule 3 specifies that the Bureau of Indian Standards shall be the certifying and enforcing authority for the goods or articles specified in the Table.

It shall come into force with effect from August 01, 2024.
